Your Responsibilities

You plan, teach, and assess students placed in a special education group, focusing on mathematics and social studies subjects. You also collaborate with other teaching teachers to plan lessons and content for students who have parts of their education in smaller groups. This means you contribute with assessment materials for grading.

The assignment includes extended mentorship for students who need clear support to succeed in the school environment. This means you are available for check-ins, meet students at the start and end of the day, handle conflicts, and resistance to working with educational content. This includes close contact with guardians and the EHT.

Your Workplace

Ekholm School is a grades 7-9 school in the southern districts of Linköping. The school has approximately 390 students, including a special education group and a resource school focused on autism. The primary school also shares a building with the adapted primary school.

At the school, 60 staff members work, most of whom are teaching teachers. The school has a complete EHT, which also includes our three full-time mentors. You will belong to a group of dedicated colleagues who appreciate collaborating around students in need of support. Our common mission is to help our students reach their knowledge goals, become democratic citizens, and thrive along the way.

Who You Are

You are a certified teacher qualified to teach grades 7-9. You have experience in pedagogical work in grades 7-9 or similar experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should also have experience teaching in smaller groups with youth who exhibit challenging behaviors and have difficulties working in larger teaching groups. You have experience working closely with other teaching teachers and find it easy to collaborate for the benefit of the students. You communicate clearly and are diligent in following up on tasks and events to ensure quality.

As a person, you are stable, have good self-awareness, and find it easy to distinguish between personal and professional interactions. You adapt the content of your teaching to the individual and the situation. You have a strong ability to create a safe learning environment with respectful interactions.

According to the curriculum (Lgr 22), you are to organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development and is responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. Therefore, it is a requirement that you have good communicative skills in both spoken and written Swedish.
