Substitute Teacher in Mathematics and Technology

Your Responsibilities

You will plan, teach, and evaluate mathematics (grades 7, 8) and technology (grades 7, 8, 9) and be a co-mentor in an 8th-grade class. You will grade in collaboration with other teachers and participate in joint planning. The mathematics teaching in grade 8 refers to the class where you are a co-mentor, and for grade 7, you will likely work as a resource. In technology, you have the opportunity to collaborate with the other teacher who teaches the subject.

Your Workplace

Ekholm School is a grades 7-9 school in the southern districts of Linköping. We have about 390 students, which also includes a resource school, and we share the school building with a special needs school. We are now looking for a substitute during the spring term for one of our teachers who will be on leave. With us, you will have knowledgeable colleagues with extensive experience, and you will have access to joint planning of the teaching. If needed, you will receive support regarding assessment and grading from certified teaching colleagues.

Who You Are

You preferably have a degree as a primary school teacher in the relevant subject areas or have started teacher training. You may also have other relevant education. You have experience working in the school environment, for example, through a work-based training program in teacher education or have otherwise been active in the teaching role.

You have the ability to document, communicate, and follow up on students' knowledge development and are comfortable contacting guardians. Since you will work closely with other staff at the school, it is important that you have good collaboration skills.

As a person, you are stable with good self-awareness and find it easy to build warm relationships. You have the ability to create a safe and respectful learning environment and enjoy working with young people.

According to the curriculum (Lgr22), you will organize and carry out the work so that students receive support in their language and communication development and be responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. Therefore, it is a requirement that you have good communicative skills in both spoken and written Swedish.
