Your Responsibilities

The role includes planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching. Mathematics and physics instruction takes place in groups of about 20 students.

As a Ma-Fy teacher, you will be part of a subject team with teachers who also teach in MA/NO/TK. You are expected to participate in the school's systematic quality work. You also belong to a working group that is divided by grade level, where collaboration primarily occurs around organizational issues. At Ånestad School, it is important to work through good relationships with students to make them active and responsible in their learning.

The assignment also involves mentorship alongside a colleague, and as a mentor, you have overall responsibility for your students in the class, their development, and communication with guardians.

Your Workplace

Ånestad School is located near the central parts of Linköping and has two school units, F-6 and 7-9. Each unit has a principal and an assistant principal. The upper secondary section currently has about 270 students and about 45 staff members, but we are growing with one more class in the fall. The best interests of the students are always in focus, and our operations are characterized by commitment, creativity, dynamism, and joy. Our staff continuously develops the working methods of the operations to achieve a higher goal fulfillment for all students. We work to ensure that all students feel safe and are acknowledged in their learning.

Who You Are

You have, or have applied for, a teaching license with the authority to teach mathematics and physics for grades 7-9. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and have knowledge of assessment and grading. We consider it an advantage if you have experience from previous teaching at the upper secondary level, and we see that you can inspire students to want to learn and develop their skills in your subjects.

To succeed in your role, you are engaged with clear leadership in the classroom; a leader who signals calm and security. You are secure, stable, and have self-awareness. You have good pedagogical insight and understand how students absorb knowledge and recognize their different conditions. You adapt your teaching to the needs of the students. You are also good at working with others. Collaboration skills are a fundamental quality as the teaching assignment involves cooperation with both internal and external actors.

It is important that you have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish to ensure that students receive support in their language and communication development.
