Your responsibilities

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher in grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others present in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection in both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is a modern, newly renovated, and centrally located school in Linköping where knowledge, community, and development are in focus. Here, approximately 750 students and around 100 engaged employees from grades 7-9 and high school meet. With us, you become part of a large staff where collaboration is close and supportive.

The teachers work closely together, and collaboration is a central part of our culture. Teaching is planned and developed in teams where you regularly meet colleagues to exchange experiences, create a common understanding, and drive teaching development. In addition to the weekly team meetings, subject teams also gather several times a year for joint professional development and to continue developing teaching.

You who are applying

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license with qualifications to teach wood and metal crafts for grades 7-9. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. You may also be at the end of your teacher education for grades 7-9. It is an advantage if you have qualifications to teach physical education for grades 7-9.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is an advantage if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also an advantage if you have experience in grading or documenting students' learning during the school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you can organize and carry out the work in accordance with the curriculum (Lgr22) to support the student's language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
