Teaching Assistant for Grade 7

Do you want to be the one who makes the school day a little safer, a little easier, and much more meaningful for students in grade 7? Then this could be your next step. We are now looking for a teaching assistant who wants to support students' learning, create structure in their daily lives, and be an important adult to lean on when needed the most. Here you will combine relationship-building work with practical support in teaching – while contributing to helping young people find their way through middle school.

The position is a fixed-term employment until mid-June 2026, making this an excellent opportunity for you who want to develop within the school and gain valuable experience.

YOUR ROLE

As a teaching assistant, you are that extra adult in the classroom – the one who sees, supports, and provides students with security in their daily lives. You help clarify instructions, create structure in schoolwork, and be there when someone needs extra support to move forward.

Together with the teacher, you contribute to ensuring that teaching works in the best way, both practically and pedagogically. This can involve preparing materials, relieving with simpler tasks such as grading and documentation. But above all, it is about your presence: being a stable and accessible adult who makes the school day a little easier and more meaningful for the students.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a secondary education or other education relevant to the role. This may involve a teaching assistant training at the secondary level of at least 800 credits, or at least 30 higher education credits in pedagogy. Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities, learning difficulties, or social issues is an advantage.

As a person, you are structured and stable, with the ability to create security and order even in challenging situations. You build relationships and trust with both students and colleagues, while being collaborative and contributing to a good work environment.

We expect you to have good digital competence and be able to use digital tools in everyday life. Proficiency in the Swedish language is a requirement. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of sign language and/or Finnish. Experience working with students who have diabetes is also an advantage.
