Böleängsskolan is a primary school (F-6) with approximately 380 students. The school is located in a residential area three kilometers from Umeå city center. The school has an inviting playground and is close to parks and forests.

We want to train our students in the ability to collaborate and learn with their peers. All students should be able to develop as far as possible based on their own conditions. Every student has the right to a good working environment; therefore, the school offers a structured and predictable school day and teaching. Collegial learning develops us, and we use digital and alternative tools as a natural part of teaching.

We welcome a teaching assistant who, with security, clarity, and care, wants to help create the best conditions for our students.

Your Responsibilities

Together with the teaching teacher, you will be responsible for ensuring that students with extensive needs have a safe and meaningful school day and after-school activities. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the school's student health and other staff to create a learning environment tailored to each student's individual needs.

Your duties include providing support in the teaching situation, offering structure and supervision throughout the school day, and conducting activities that promote the student's development. You will work based on the teacher's planning and translate it into practical pedagogical support that helps the student achieve their goals.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained teaching assistant, childcare worker, social educator, or has other equivalent education. You have experience working with children and supporting students with NPF, autism, and language disorders.

It is an advantage if you have:

• post-secondary education with a focus on pedagogy, behavioral science, or special education,
• experience of qualified work with children with severe behavioral issues,
• experience working in schools, especially within adapted primary education.

As a person, you are flexible, clear, and structured. You enjoy working with children in need of special support and understand the important role you have in their school day. You will receive continuous guidance from student health and become a key person in the operation. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

According to the law on suitability checks, a criminal record extract must be presented upon employment.
