Vocational Teacher in Healthcare Subjects

YOUR ROLE

As a vocational teacher, you will teach students at the upper secondary level and make both theory and practice understandable, relevant, and meaningful. Together with your colleagues, you will plan, implement, and follow up on the teaching and support students in their learning, both in the classroom and in practical moments. An important part of the assignment is to be responsible for workplace-based learning. You will collaborate with supervisors in the organizations, follow up on students, and ensure that their internships are safe, educational, and well connected to the goals of the education.

The role also includes mentorship where you follow a group of students, build trusting relationships, and actively work with their motivation, well-being, and development. As a mentor, you are the connecting link between student, home, and school and contribute to creating a whole where each student has the right conditions to succeed.

In your daily work, you meet students with different needs and conditions, and you build relationships that create security and motivation. You become a stable adult in the room who leads, inspires, and guides.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You have an education in care and welfare or health and medical care, or a pedagogical education that makes you suitable for the assignment. You also have work experience from care and welfare or health and medical care, which gives you a solid foundation when translating professional knowledge into teaching. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can adapt your language to the target group and situation. You also master English in speech and writing. A B driver's license is also required for the role.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a teacher and have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching. If you have a pedagogical degree and teaching certification, that is a plus, but if it is missing at the time of employment, there is an opportunity to start studies during employment. Experience in mentoring roles within care and welfare or health and medical care is also valuable.

As a person, you are structured and work methodically, while also being stable even when the pace increases or situations change. You build good relationships with both students and colleagues and contribute to an open and collaborative work team. In these relationships and in your ability to create clarity and security, your personal qualities become particularly important.
