School Assistant at Lejonströmsskolan

YOUR ROLE

In this role, you will follow students in preschool class during the school day and provide support based on students' needs related to neuropsychological variations and other difficulties. You create structure and continuity, serve as a calm presence in everyday life, and help students find strategies to develop both socially and academically.

After school hours, you will work at the after-school center, where you, together with colleagues, contribute to a safe and meaningful environment for the entire group of children.

As a school assistant, you are an important part of the students' everyday life. By supporting the educational work, both in the classroom and in other situations, you help create conditions for learning and community.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a high school education or equivalent experience that makes you suitable for the role. You have previously worked with children and young people in a school environment and have experience meeting students with different needs and conditions. To thrive in this role, you need to be secure, creative, and solution-oriented, with the ability to create good relationships and collaborate closely with both students and colleagues.

You are accustomed to using digital technology as a tool in your work and can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. If you have knowledge of sign language, Finnish, or other languages beyond the Scandinavian ones, we see this as an additional asset. Familiarity with the curriculum and the school's governing documents is advantageous.

A valid extract from the criminal record is also required for work in a school environment – for us, the safety of the students is always a priority.
