Teaching Assistant at Mariehem School

Mariehem School is an F–6 school with around 230 students. The school has its roots from the 1960s and was completely renovated in 2009. The school is located near Bräntberget and the natural areas of Nydalasjön. Here, students learn to express their opinions, listen to others, and respect each other. Together with our skilled educators, students learn to take responsibility for their own learning and are given space to develop their self-esteem and integrity. Mariehem School is one of Umeå Municipality's training schools, which means that during the school year, it hosts teacher students for their practical training, VFU.

We are now looking for a teaching assistant for our school!

Your responsibilities

You will work as a teaching assistant for students with diabetes. You will also serve as an educational resource and be present during both lessons and breaks. Your work will be in collaboration with support educators, special educators, and subject teachers.

About you

We are looking for someone with a childcare education and experience with diabetes. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a teaching assistant.

You are a secure and stable adult who serves as a good role model, with the ability to create good relationships with students. You see each individual and contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment while collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals. We are looking for an engaged person who shares our values, wants to contribute to continuous improvements, and achieve set goals.
