Our Preschools

In Vilhelmina municipality, there are seven municipal preschools and one pedagogical care. Three of the preschools are located in the locality and are called Regnbågen, Skogsbacken, and Sagobacken. In our villages, there are three more preschools: Tranan in Nästansjö, Myltan in Latikberg, and Norrskenet in Malgovik. In Saxnäs, there is the preschool Rävlyan, and in Dikanäs, there is the pedagogical care Fjällripan.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility

As a preschool teacher, you have the main responsibility for ensuring that the assignment is carried out. You will lead and develop the educational work in the department based on the preschool's governing documents. You are responsible for creating a positive and development-promoting environment for each child as well as for the entire group. You will also arrange meetings with parents both individually and in large groups and work with your colleagues to develop our operations.

Working as a preschool teacher offers unique – and significant – opportunities to influence and contribute to children's development. As a preschool teacher, you contribute to creating a positive and developing environment, with a good balance of care and learning, for each child and for the entire group of children. Our well-organized daily structure, which is based on children's participation and influence, forms the foundation of our educational work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree as a preschool teacher or a teacher for younger ages. You focus on the child and are cheerful, patient, positive, flexible, engaged, and see opportunities. You have knowledge and an idea of how you and your colleagues can realize the goals and values of the curriculum. You also have knowledge of how to make children's learning processes visible and further develop them through pedagogical documentation.

Particularly meritorious is if you have experience with conscious language development approaches. Everyone is welcome to apply, but we are especially looking for someone with a few years of experience in the profession and a conscious approach to working with various adaptations for both groups and individuals.

Conditions

According to the Education Act, extracts from the police's criminal record must be presented by individuals before they are employed in preschool activities, schools, and school-age childcare. About Vilhelmina

Vilhelmina can be described as a 5-minute community. It may be a bit far from larger cities, but once you are there, most things are within reach. In five minutes, you can pick up children from preschool, go to work, hit the gym after work, or take your skis/running shoes to the illuminated trails, and eat at one of the local cafes and restaurants. In the mountains, there are facilities that are open both during tourist seasons and year-round, and also close to some of the larger ski slopes in Kittelfjäll and Klimpfjäll.
