Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently undergoing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. We are looking for substitute teachers for the spring term of 2026 for Lerum Municipality's preschools.
As a substitute teacher with us, you will be employed through Lerum Municipality's Staffing Unit. The assignments apply when regular staff are absent, which can be both for short-term and long-term substitutes.
How it works:
You will be intermittently employed (substitute) and receive ongoing requests for work shifts – sometimes with short notice (the same day), sometimes with longer notice. You indicate your availability in our digital booking system, where you can also express interest in specific work shifts.
As a substitute, your work assignments may vary from day to day, and you may work in different preschools. Working hours are during the day on weekdays.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You are a safe and positive role model for our children and support them in their play, learning, and social development. By being actively present, you guide and encourage the children in their activities, participate in play, and contribute to a safe, stimulating, and structured environment. You help create calm and clarity in everyday life and build good relationships through close interaction in both play and daily routines. The work is varied and involves great responsibility and independence.
Examples of job responsibilities:
- Participate in and lead activities and games, both indoors and outdoors
- Support children in their language development, motor skills, and social interactions
- Assist in routine situations such as meals, dressing, and resting
- Be a present adult who creates security throughout the day
- Follow the day's planning set by regular staff and contribute to the smooth running of the operations
- If necessary, provide extra support to individual children or small groups
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who easily establishes contact in social contexts and can quickly build trusting relationships with children. You take responsibility, show initiative, and feel comfortable working independently. You have a good ability to structure your work and drive it forward while being attentive, observant, and enjoy collaborating with the team.
You need to be able to adapt to new groups of children, working methods, and daily routines and independently handle the situations that arise during the day in preschool.
A high school diploma is an advantage. Experience working in preschools, childcare, service professions, or other jobs where you support or help people is also advantageous. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
To work with children and youth, a certificate from the Police's criminal record register is required.
