JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for a support educator for our short-term operations for children and young people with disabilities. With us, you will be part of an engaged team where you, in close collaboration with the unit manager, actively contribute to developing the operations and driving our change work forward.
The main goal of the operations is to offer the best possible stay for our participants based on current legislation and guidelines. An important part of your tasks is therefore to ensure the work towards set development goals as issued according to decisions and implementation plans.
As a support educator, you are responsible for ensuring that the decided methods and working methods are implemented in the operations and in the work with the users. You initiate and, together with your colleagues, develop action plans for specific users based on needs.
In your daily work, you continuously support, motivate, and guide your colleagues. In your role, you have an overarching responsibility for methodological work, AAC, and social documentation. You are a support to other staff in this work. You seek knowledge and keep yourself updated and informed about new methods and working methods within LSS. In the workgroup, you actively work to implement an ethical approach that promotes the user's self-determination, participation, and integrity.
In close collaboration with the unit manager, you will also work with occupancy, staffing, and other tasks based on experience. You will have the opportunity to influence your assignment and shape it based on your competencies.
Our support educators within the disability department are part of a network run by our method developers. This means that you regularly meet colleagues from other operations within the department to exchange experiences. Our method developers also offer training/guidance to all our staff groups as needed. You will work days, evenings, and weekends. The position also includes joint planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a post-secondary education in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points or 60 university credits or equivalent, such as support educator, social worker, or social pedagogue. Furthermore, you need to have worked in a leading/mentoring or similar role previously. You have good knowledge of social documentation, evidence-based methods, and AAC. It is advantageous to have previously worked with children.
Since short-term stays are a changing operation, you need to be flexible, enjoy challenges, and be solution-focused. You should like working at a fast pace and be quick to adapt when new operational needs arise. You also have a well-developed pedagogical ability with a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient.
