The Central Hospital in Kristianstad (CSK) is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Here, emergency care is provided around the clock by competent and dedicated staff. CSK has the resources of a large hospital and the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. We have approximately 2,600 employees.

The Urology Department (VO) has been its own department at CSK since September 1, 2022, and is responsible for both planned and emergency urology. We have a broad operation focused on both benign and malignant urological conditions, and since 2022 we also perform robot-assisted cancer surgery. The Urology Department includes our urology and vascular surgery ward as well as our urology outpatient clinic. At the clinic, which is fully equipped with modern technology, we have nearly 9,000 visits per year, and the forecast is increasing. Our department has 16 to 24 beds for urological surgery, tailored for patients being treated for urological diseases. About 80 competent and dedicated staff members work with us.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now announcing two medical intern positions for approximately six months, primarily working in the urology and vascular surgery ward.

On a typical day with us, your responsibilities will include rounds with the attending physician. In the role of medical intern, you will also engage in admission reception, documentation, consultations with other specialists, and more. Some weekend work may occur, and based on interest and experience, there is the possibility of outpatient work and surgery.

Some flexibility exists regarding the start and end dates of the internship, for example, in case of acceptance into a residency program or if there is a desire for an extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a medical degree or has completed up to semester 9 in medical training and is therefore eligible to work as a temporary non-licensed medical intern under general exemption. Documented language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. For foreign medical degrees, documentation from the National Board of Health and Welfare must be presented to prove that you are eligible to work as a physician in Sweden.

As a person, you are curious and can take your own initiatives. You have high social competence and see it as a given to meet your patients in the best way. Furthermore, you are easy to collaborate with, flexible, and have good communication skills. Since we are keen to find the right people for the positions, great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
