Ward 3 is a well-functioning full-time ward with 16 beds where we primarily treat individuals with psychotic disorders and bipolar disorder, as well as other psychiatric diagnoses. The catchment area is Lund and seven surrounding municipalities. The ward is an energetic and dynamic workplace with a team consisting of team leaders, nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, secretaries, and unit managers. Two nurses and one team leader work during the day and serve as support when it gets busiest during workdays to ensure the quality of our joint efforts. This means that there are always experienced individuals to turn to if questions arise during a shift.

- I was actually supposed to work in somatics but ended up in psychiatry and have never regretted it. I had many preconceived notions and thought that psychiatry was scary and threatening. How wrong I was. My skills as a nurse are valued, and I feel appreciated, sufficient, and proud of my work. The best part of being a nurse in psychiatry is that it is free, and I get to be inventive and innovative in planning with my patients. Says Angelica, unit manager at Ward 3.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a nursing colleague who wants to be part of our ward and together with us create a safe, cohesive work group where everyone enjoys coming to work and we can provide continuity and security to our patients.

Every day begins with structuring who will do what during the day using a pulse board and pulse meetings. We prioritize close nursing work and time with patients highly. Nursing assistants and nurses work closely together and help with administrative tasks to ensure that everyone is available for patients with planning, walks, and conversations. We work a lot with group activities and have different groups focusing on relaxation, creativity, recovery, and physical activity with our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Language proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. We consider it an advantage if you have specialized training in psychiatry, but it is not a requirement. Previous experience in the profession and/or in psychiatry is also seen as an advantage.

As a person, you are empathetic, driven, and attentive to patients and colleagues. We value your strong commitment, good teamwork skills, and ability to work in a team. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
