The hospital in Ystad is an acute hospital that offers a wide range of specialized care, both emergency and planned. We provide 24/7 health and medical care with quality and accessibility, holistic view, and care as hallmarks. Approximately 5,000 surgeries are performed annually, of which one-third are emergency surgeries.

We are a surgical five-day department within the area of expertise (VO) surgery, urology, orthopedics, ENT, as well as intensive and perioperative care in Ystad. The department has nine inpatient beds and ten recovery places. We have patients in all surgical specialties such as urology, surgery, gynecology, and ENT.

The unit has been established to provide patients with quick, safe, and professional care before and after surgery. We are a smaller workgroup of about 15 employees who support and help each other and guide new colleagues. Proximity to all staff categories is an advantage at the hospital in Ystad. Rotation shifts with weekend work may become relevant to our nearby surgical care units.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a nurse for the surgical department for planned surgeries and the recovery unit in Ystad.

The elective department conducts operations with planned surgeries, but we also assist with managing certain emergency flows. The work largely involves organizing a good flow for patients before surgery. It also includes other commonly occurring tasks within surgical operations. You perform patient-centered work in a team with nursing assistants, which includes preoperative and postoperative care of patients, medication management, and general nursing. Additionally, care planning, contact with relatives, sampling, guidance of employees and students, and documentation in Melior, Orbit, and other IT systems are included in the work.

You will be involved in business development projects, and we offer training opportunities both within and outside the area of expertise, as well as further development within your respective area of responsibility. This allows you to move within the five phases of the competence development program. We are now looking for an advanced phase nurse. As an advanced phase nurse, you lead and develop the nursing work in the team. You independently lead the operations in the department and have your own areas of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale and basic computer skills are required. We welcome newly graduated nurses, but if you have previous work experience in the profession, this is considered an advantage. If you also have experience in surgical, urological, or gynecological care and treatment, it is beneficial. Likewise, experience with documentation and journal programs such as Melior, Orbit 5, Pasis, and Mina planer is advantageous.

When it comes to you as a person, you have a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues. You have a good ability to prioritize between tasks and collaborate well with colleagues.
