We are looking for an occupational therapist colleague to the rehabilitation unit (VO) who wants to develop or deepen their knowledge in hand orthopedics. The position is a permanent employment divided between two work areas, primarily working in hand orthopedics with a smaller part of the job in inpatient care.

The VO rehabilitation constitutes its own area of operation and is responsible for rehabilitation efforts in all inpatient departments at the Central Hospital in Kristianstad. We participate in team and day care activities primarily within medicine and pediatrics. In addition, specialized outpatient care is conducted in medicine, orthopedics, and surgery, which receives approximately 18,000 patient visits each year. We also conduct geriatric day rehabilitation for individuals with acquired neurological diseases and specialized home rehabilitation according to Early Supported Discharge (ESD). About 65 competent employees work here, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries.

The orthopedic clinic is a university hospital unit within hand surgery where we conduct specialized hand rehabilitation. We take care of patients with finger fractures, wrist fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, joint diseases, or congenital hand injuries. Patients of all ages come here.

Within VO rehabilitation, we are 17 occupational therapists working closely together. We look forward to welcoming our next colleague! JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome you as an occupational therapist to our movement/support team within VO rehabilitation in Kristianstad.

In hand rehabilitation, you will work in a well-functioning team with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, hand surgeons, orthopedic doctors, nurses, social workers, and medical secretaries. As an occupational therapist, you will have your own outpatient clinic.

Your work is characterized by personal responsibility, participation, and teamwork. Your tasks consist of occupational therapy assessments and interventions in outpatient care. You will assess hand function, instruct movement and sensory training, treat swelling and scars. Furthermore, you will fit prefabricated or create individually designed orthoses for the upper extremity. You will also provide patients with ergonomic advice and strategies for daily activities.

In the department, you will meet patients with varying backgrounds, ages, and individual needs for occupational therapy interventions. Typical tasks include assessing ADL ability, assessing cognitive ability and assistive device needs, mobilizations, training in using assistive devices, and preparations for discharge.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed occupational therapist with the authority to operate within Swedish healthcare. Your language skills correspond to at least level C1 in Swedish according to the Council of Europe's level scale.

You as a person are flexible, proactive, and have a professional approach. In addition, you have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work.
