At the Bup Acute Department and Emergency Reception, we meet children and young people who need acute psychiatric care. We are open around the clock and receive patients from all over Skåne in cases such as acute risk of suicide, life-threatening eating disorders, acute symptoms of mania, delusions, or psychosis. Your contribution makes a significant difference. Much of the work involves listening and being present; here you can use all your skills in meeting each young person and quickly build an alliance to meet the child where they are.

Bup's 24-hour care in Malmö operates region-wide with the target group being children and young people up to 18 years old. Specialized 24-hour care is provided in three departments and one reception, all of which are open around the clock.

The acute department has six beds. The department works with acute care, crisis management, diagnostics, pharmacological treatments, and short support interventions, both individually and for families. We who work here are nurses, nursing assistants, family therapists, doctors, psychologists, social workers, coordinators, secretaries, and unit managers. The emergency reception triages acute patients via phone or on-site. Here you work together with a nursing assistant and a doctor.

Your introduction starts with a week alongside the team coordinator to get to know the operations, colleagues, guidelines, and more. You will also make various study visits. You will be introduced to the work and shadow a colleague for as long as you need. Every other week, an external supervisor leads the team in the emergency department through various patient work processes. This gives us the opportunity to discuss different dilemmas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now have the opportunity to welcome two nurses to our team! The positions are two permanent roles based in the Acute Department and Emergency Reception in Malmö.

As a nurse in the department, you have a leading role regarding psychiatric and somatic care. You perform standard nursing tasks such as sampling, medication management, and documentation. You participate in rounds and have psychoeducational conversations with the youth and their relatives. In the emergency reception, you triage acute patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. If you have specialist training in psychiatry, we consider it an advantage for the position, as well as if you have training in CBT level 1. We also see that you preferably have experience with the documentation program Melior.

We seek someone who is empathetic with a professional approach, has good collaboration skills, and can see the whole picture around an individual. You are development-oriented, engaged, and good at creating positive relationships - these are your strengths. You should have experience and interest in working both independently and collaboratively across teams. We are keen to find the right person for the role and will place great importance on personal suitability.
