The area of operation (VO) for medical devices is part of the management of Psychiatry, habilitation, and medical devices. The management has over 4500 employees and operates in several locations in Skåne. VO medical devices is responsible for all areas of medical devices funded by Region Skåne. This includes devices for people with mobility, vision, hearing, communication, and cognitive impairments, medical treatment aids, orthopedic technical aids, and pharmaceutical-related products.

In Skåne, the responsibility for the area of medical devices related to mobility, communication, and cognition is divided between the municipalities and Region Skåne, where the region is responsible for devices for children and young people up to 20 years of age, and the municipalities for individuals over 20 years. Exceptions are specific aids such as electric wheelchairs and several communication aids.

The medical device operations are divided into two areas: logistics/storage and reception areas where patient-related activities are conducted. We have five medical device receptions whose work is characterized by respectful treatment, positive engagement, close collaboration, and broad competence. Here, unit secretaries, medical device consultants, and medical device technicians work together with the patient in focus.

KommSyn is responsible for areas of medical devices related to communication and cognitive aids, computer-based visual aids, alternative telephony, and hearing technical aids. The unit also includes Datateket, which provides advice on developing apps and computer games.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome two occupational therapists to the team responsible for communication and cognitive aids, primarily located at KommSyn in Lund. You will work in a team with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and IT technicians.

As an occupational therapist with us, you will primarily work with aids in the areas of cognition and communication. This also includes control systems, environmental controls, movement, and epilepsy alarms. Collaboration between the KommSyn medical device reception and the movement medical device receptions occurs. Work methods are under development to better collaborate and utilize our shared resources effectively.

You will work on behalf of prescribers, and the work includes counseling, device trials, follow-ups, and training for prescribers, patients, and networks. The patients you meet are both children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and diagnoses. You will alternate between working independently and being part of a team where you contribute your specific expertise as an occupational therapist. Patient visits will take place at our receptions, at prescribers' workplaces, or at patients' homes. This means that travel for work is required using public transport or pool cars.

At KommSyn, pulse and improvement boards are used as part of Lean-inspired work, where deviations and improvements are handled continuously. All units within the medical device operations use this working method and help each other to improve the operations based on this common structure.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed occupational therapist with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. Travel for work is required, and therefore a valid B driver's license is necessary. Experience working with people with disabilities and experience with cognitive aids and computer-based communication aids is advantageous for the position.

You are creative and curious and enjoy taking on new challenges. We see it as a prerequisite that you appreciate meeting people and providing advice and support. You enjoy informing and educating others, and you have a genuine interest in technology. We are looking for someone who has a good ability to prioritize and plan your tasks individually and together with others, as well as the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously.
