At the Emergency Care Unit (AVA) in Ystad, we work in a team-based and person-centered manner with the acutely ill patient in focus. We are a workgroup with strong and effective collaboration, building a safe and secure care for our patients in interdisciplinary teams. We provide a thorough introduction for you as a new colleague, and you will be assigned a mentor who will follow you during your first year. At AVA, we currently have two colleagues who are furthering their education in emergency care, and therefore we welcome new nurses to our team.

The department has five emergency care beds for patients with higher care needs. We also have a treatment area where we take over patients from the emergency room for optimization and further treatment. There is also a thrombolysis area where we manage stroke patients in the acute phase before they are transferred to the ward. We care for both internal medicine and surgical patients as well as patients with minor traumas. The department also includes a short-term unit (KTE) where we provide protocol-driven care for up to 23 hours before the patient either goes home or is admitted to inpatient care. Here, we provide complex, flexible, and high-tech care and have a constant flow of patients from the emergency department as well as to and from inpatient care and ICU. Our goal is safe and satisfied patients, more efficient care, better flows, competence development, and a good work environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for two nurses to join our team at AVA in Ystad. With us, you will have the opportunity to meet patients with many different diagnoses. The pace is sometimes high as we work with acutely ill patients, but we always work together around the patient, which means that we constantly have a learning and exchange of knowledge in every situation.

Your responsibilities as a nurse include care, monitoring, and treatment of the acutely ill patient. We provide highly specialized care that involves working with medical technology equipment, nursing, acute care, thrombolysis, and more. During each shift, we are 2 to 3 nurses responsible for between 20 and 25 patients depending on the care load.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. For the position, language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required.
