Qualified Preschool Teacher for Kåxis Preschool.

We are looking for a preschool teacher for the parent cooperative Kåxis.

We are primarily looking for someone with experience working in preschools, preferably from cooperatives, for the position of preschool teacher and craft educator.

Kåxis Preschool is a parent cooperative in Södermalm that has been around since 1989. The preschool is centrally located in Södermalm, just a 2-minute walk from Medborgarplatsen subway station. Within a few minutes, we can reach several fantastic playgrounds, which we visit at least once a week.

The group consists of 16 children aged 1-5 years. Kåxis' airy and spacious premises, dating back to the turn of the century, provide ample space for the children to move around in dance and activities. We have a lovely and cozy courtyard with a sandbox and play stations for all ages. Our workshop/studio, where we spend a lot of time, is also located in the courtyard. At Kåxis, children's play, creativity, and creation are in focus, and you will work alongside a team including the principal, childcare workers, and a small group of established substitutes.

The educational activities are managed entirely by the staff, while the parent group handles much of the practical aspects such as cleaning, grocery shopping, participating in various working groups, budgeting, on-call duties, etc.

We run a preschool that we are very proud of, where both children, staff, and parents thrive and respect each other.

Job Responsibilities:

At Kåxis Preschool, you will be part of a creative work environment where all educators contribute, but where you as a preschool teacher, together with the principal, set guidelines for the educational activities. Our workshop studio has great potential that we hope you will help drive and develop. In a parent cooperative and as a member of a small staff group, it is essential that you are both responsive and secure as an educator and colleague.

To create a developing environment, the child group is divided into different activity groups. Here we appreciate a good overall view of the operations, as all children should have ample space in the daily educational work. Care is combined with learning, and we place great importance on documenting the daily educational work to make children's learning processes visible and, in extension, reflection. We have developed a collaboration with other cooperatives where we create opportunities for older children to develop together through joint activities; you as an educator will be part of the continued collaboration and development we create between the cooperatives.

We apply a probationary period of 6 months. The position then transitions to a permanent employment of 50%-100%.

Qualifications Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

• Preschool teacher certification
• Documented experience of working in a preschool for at least 0-3 years
• Genuine interest in sustainable development, equal treatment, and has a norm-critical and gender-conscious approach
• Is responsive and can collaborate, seeing parents as an asset in the work

Meritorious

• Craft educator or other artistic/educational degree
• Interest in other creative activities (theater, music, etc.)
• Experience working in a mixed-age child group
