Danderyd High School is one of Stockholm's largest high schools with approximately 1300 students. The school consists of four college preparatory programs (EK, NA, SA, TE), language introduction, and a small special needs unit. The school also has a successful NIU program, a nationally recruiting math specialization program, and an ASD program within SA. The operations are well-functioning with various specializations and many fine traditions. The school is very popular and has ambitious students, engaged parents, and highly competent staff. Danderyd High School (Dagy) has high goals, and most students continue to higher education.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a SYV, you will be an important part of the student health team when mapping and addressing students' study situations. You will guide students in matters related to study and career choices based on their individual study plans. The guidance should be both general and individual, aiming to support students' ability to make well-founded choices related to the goals of education and future study and career choices.

You will collaborate with the school's educational staff, mentors, and student health team and will also be a strategic resource for school management in the overall school development work. Based on your profession, you contribute to a good pedagogical learning environment with high goal fulfillment and development of the school's internal pedagogical work.

You will work closely with your study and career counseling colleagues to structure and develop the school's routines within relevant areas of responsibility. You will be responsible for planning, implementation, follow-up, documentation, and communication with students regarding study and career choices. In connection with any study changes, you will monitor issues related to the student's individual study plan and study choices. The position will also include information and training, both for groups and individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:
• Has a degree in study and career counseling
• Has documented experience in study and career counseling
• Knowledge of the post-secondary education system and the labor market
• Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Has good knowledge of the Office suite and digital programs as well as other technical support for students' learning

It is advantageous if you have:
• Experience working in a high school
• Experience in marketing efforts related to high school fairs

We are looking for someone who is flexible and adapts their working methods to the needs of the student. You have an easy time understanding others' situations as you are attentive and trustworthy and create good relationships. We believe you are creative and think outside the box, looking for solutions rather than problems with a positive attitude. Furthermore, you demonstrate excellent collaboration skills with a selfless focus on the common goal. We are looking for someone who is also structured, works according to a clear process, and organizes and plans their work well. We expect you to have a strong interest in youth development, health, learning, and students' ability to make well-founded study and career choices. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
