Job Responsibilities

The Department of Political Science is now seeking a research assistant for the research projects “A complete database of voting in the Swedish Parliament, 1925-2022”, and “Explaining success in legislative work”, under the leadership of Professor Jan Teorell. The projects are funded by the Riksbankens jubileumsfond and the Swedish Research Council.

The main tasks will consist of reading and coding information regarding legislative work in the Swedish Parliament and in other parliaments. Other tasks may be added.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least a bachelor's degree in political science, good written and oral communication skills in both Swedish and English, strong analytical skills, knowledge and familiarity with Excel, as well as familiarity and basic knowledge of statistical programs Stata and R.

It is an advantage if you have:

High grades in courses in political science methods and independent work.
Documented knowledge and experience in reading and coding information within similar projects.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

About the Employment

The position is permanent part-time at 50 percent with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date is February 1, 2025, or according to agreement.
