About the Union

The Financial Union is the largest trade union for everyone working in the banking and finance sector. The union currently has about 30,000 members, is politically independent, and is a member of TCO. You can find members everywhere, in the large bank with several thousand employees as well as in the small brokerage firm with a niche business. The Financial Union represents the union members' interests and influences the development within the finance industry.

The office consists of 40 employees, and you will be part of the research team in the Communication, Opinion, and Market unit. Your manager is the unit manager, who is also the communications manager.

About the Role

The Financial Union is looking for an experienced and qualified researcher who wants to work closely with the union chairman in a role with both strategic and operational responsibilities. You will be part of the research team in the Communication, Opinion, and Market unit, where you will play a central role in the work with policy development, influence, and analysis. With over 30,000 members, the Financial Union is a strong player in the banking and finance sector, and in this role, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to shaping the union's political direction and advancing the members' interests within the industry.

The role is responsible for coordinating how strategies and plans are developed, followed up, and refined, both through meetings and other processes. You will develop an annual plan for which issues should be prioritized and developed, as well as plan and produce reports that support the strategic work. You will also be responsible for planning and coordinating the union's advocacy work towards relevant stakeholders and organizations. In this role, you will also act as an advisor and sounding board to the union chairman. The work also includes handling and formulating consultation responses at both national and international levels.

We are looking for you who have:

• Experience in strategic work within politics, influence, or social issues, preferably from the trade union, public, or non-profit sector
• Very good ability to analyze complex issues and translate them into concrete plans, reports, and materials
• Experience working closely with decision-makers, with an understanding of political and organizational processes
• Good experience in coordinating and driving processes, both independently and in collaboration with others
• Experience in writing consultation responses, political texts, or similar
• Ability to express yourself very well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
• Academic education in political science, social science, communication, or a related field

About the Position

This position is a direct recruitment, which means that the recruitment process is conducted through Bravura and you will be employed directly by the Financial Union. The position is a temporary contract for at least 12 months.
