The Swedish Civil Defense Analysis Authority (MTFA) is tasked with monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating the operations within civil defense from a systems perspective, as well as assisting the government with qualified knowledge bases.

MTFA is under the Ministry of Defense and is located in centrally located premises in Stockholm. The authority was established in 2023 and currently has about 30 employees.

The Analyst Work at MTFA

The authority works with both government assignments and self-initiated analyses and evaluations with the goal of contributing to a strong and cost-effective civil defense. You will be involved in the entire analysis and evaluation process, from developing project and work plans to presentations and reporting. The work is based on both in-depth expertise in evaluation and analysis as well as knowledge of various areas within the Swedish civil defense. Our methods may include interviews, surveys, focus groups, games as a method, document or AI analysis. You may alternate between being a project leader and project team member in assignments where you, together with colleagues, investigate, analyze, make assessments, and provide conclusions and recommendations to the government. Business trips within Sweden may occur.

You have

· an academic degree in social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, or humanities, or equivalent education that we assess as comparable.

· several years of experience in advanced analysis and evaluation work.

· a good ability to structure large and complex issues involving multiple actors or several administrative levels.

· very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have

· good knowledge of how the public sector is governed and organized, especially within civil defense.

· experience as a project leader.

· a doctoral degree.

Other

The place of employment is Stockholm. The position is classified in a security class which requires Swedish citizenship. The position is a permanent employment of 100 percent with a six-month probationary period. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Start date by agreement.
