Civilian Administrator at the Life Battalion

The Life Battalion is a task force with a wide range of duties – from the protection of Stockholm to ceremonial guard and parades, both on horseback and on foot.

The operations at the Life Battalion are somewhat different compared to the rest of the Armed Forces. In addition to our grouping location being centrally located in Stockholm, a large part of the time is dedicated to parades and ceremonial duties. We are proud of our historical heritage, counting our days back to the year 1521. This makes us the world's oldest still active unit. When you serve at the Life Battalion, you represent not only yourself and the battalion but also the regiment, the Armed Forces, and the entire Swedish people. You carry the tradition forward.

As a Civilian (CVAT) administrator, you belong to the Intelligence and Security Section (S2) at the Life Battalion's staff. Therefore, the position will involve handling various aspects of information security, physical security, and personnel security.

Main Responsibilities

In your role as a civilian administrator at the Life Battalion, you will work broadly with various administrative tasks under the security chief. The main part of the position involves the administration of the Life Battalion's routines regarding access restrictions and systems for technical surveillance. The position also includes a significant amount of office tasks such as issuing parking permits and room bookings. You will also participate in projects that involve collaboration internally as well as with other units, staffs, and authorities. As a civilian employee in the Armed Forces, you may be trained as a combatant, which also means that you will be assigned to the Life Battalion in times of war. You will be a member of the staff, and as a staff member, it is a natural part to support other sections and the leadership group as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education at least at the high school level.
  • Good computer skills and experience with MS Office.
  • At least 2 years of work experience.
  • Documented administrative experience.

Meritorious

  • Previous service in military and/or civilian intelligence and security services.
  • Experience working with access restrictions and systems for technical surveillance.
  • Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
  • Experience working in and/or trained in ISUndSäk.
  • Driving license AM/B.

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone with good social skills and a helpful attitude. You are attentive and have a good ability to see the bigger picture. We value initiative, humility, and appreciate that you enjoy working in an environment that is constantly evolving. You have a positive attitude and strive to be a role model for others. A prerequisite is a good ability to independently plan and organize your work effectively while setting boundaries based on given priorities.

Great importance is placed on personal qualities, suitability, and achieved results in the corresponding area of activity. You should not have allergies to hay or fur animals as allergens from horses and hay may be present in the work environment.

Other

  • Employment type: Permanent, with a 6-month probationary period.
  • Start date: By agreement.
  • Location: Stockholm.
  • Salary: According to the Armed Forces' salary structure, but at least 27,000 SEK.
