About the Unit

The Maritime Staff's Operational Safety Unit leads, coordinates, and develops, among other things, maritime safety throughout the Swedish Armed Forces and provides expert support in organizational maritime safety to the Chief of the Navy in his role as the Armed Forces' Shipowner. The unit also has an overarching responsibility for operational safety within the Navy, including land safety, work environment, incident management, traffic safety, and electrical safety. Nautical issues are also part of our area of responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

The position involves independent and systematic work in a small unit. The position requires a structured approach with a relatively broad understanding of the processes that the position affects and involves a lot of personal responsibility.

The administrator serves as a cohesive function to support the unit management but also has the responsibility to keep together, for example, action lists, minutes, etc. for the Navy's work environment committee. The administrator will also be responsible for maintaining the publication service, primarily within the Armed Forces' Shipowner's publication area but eventually also provide support to other publication areas within the Navy. This includes both registry maintenance, processing of consultation responses, contacts with other functions within the Armed Forces, etc. In addition to regular responsibilities, participation in the daily operations of the unit and all the preparations handled daily will also be included.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• high school education with passing grades or equivalent education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
• Class B driver's license
• experience in administrative work
• experience in publication services / government-regulating documents
• experience in operational safety

This position requires the ability to drive and work in a structured and meticulous manner. We see that you are goal-oriented and motivated to complete tasks. You must be open and collaborative and able to work well both in a team and independently. The position also requires that you are versatile, creative, and have a good service attitude, even when the pace is high and tasks are many and varied. The Armed Forces is undergoing extensive development work to build a stronger defense against the background of a deteriorating security situation and a new defense policy direction focusing on national defense. Leadership for a stronger defense aims to increase robustness, simplify command and obedience relationships, and through decentralization of mandates and responsibilities, increase the conditions for mission tactics. As part of this work, the Armed Forces has organized a Maritime Staff for the command of the Naval units. The Maritime Staff is established at Muskö in Haninge municipality.
