Social Worker for Competence Supply Unit

The Social Services Department works to ensure that all citizens, when needed, can receive the support they may require in various situations. This is done within the framework of the social services' mission and various legislations, as well as based on the values of the social services department. This may involve home care, special accommodation, advice and support for people with disabilities, livelihood support, or assistance with substance abuse problems. The department also includes the municipality's competence supply unit.

The Social Services Department is divided into five areas: Home Care, Care and Nursing Homes, Health Care, Individual and Family Care, and the area for people with disabilities.

The Competence Supply Unit is part of the Individual and Family Care, and is divided into six groups: case management group, coaching group, and the group for placement in and support for social enterprises (GPS). The unit also includes administration, support for people with substance abuse problems through our adult team and the outpatient care Tellus, as well as the Bosam Group which can provide support and guidance to the homeless and in housing-related interventions. The Competence Supply Unit has two responsible unit managers who lead the team together with an acting unit manager. The acting unit manager will be your immediate supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working within the Competence Supply Unit involves, among other things, helping users towards self-sufficiency through social change work and a coaching approach where the individual's own resources are at the center and utilized in the best possible way. You will work with people in vulnerable situations.

Your work is in the case management group's reception where the tasks involve administering, investigating, and assessing the right to financial assistance. This is done through checks and individual assessments based on the Social Services Act. The investigations at the reception involve a lot of telephone contacts as well as personal meetings. The pace can sometimes be high as several complicated but exciting cases may come in.

As a social worker in the reception, you play a crucial role in identifying clients' needs, and cooperation between internal and external actors is therefore an important part of the work. Documentation, legal certainty, and a good approach are also important parts of our work.

Based on a BIP-inspired approach, the client will be followed by a coach, who has the closest collaboration on the individual's path to self-sufficiency. In your tasks, in addition to performing necessary checks, you will investigate and make decisions on the individual's application for financial assistance based on the coach's assessment of how the client's individual planning is followed.

As a new employee in the reception group, you will receive an introduction and access to mentorship and case management support.

QUALIFICATIONS

Social worker, social administrator, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

We are looking for someone who is committed, structured, has a good ability to collaborate, and is confident in their role and has an understanding of the mission and of people in vulnerable situations. Experience in case management and exercising authority is a merit. Personal suitability is of great importance.
