About the position
We are expanding with a position for a bridge engineer, which creates an opportunity for you to strengthen our team! As a bridge engineer, you will work directly under the unit manager for Roads and Traffic, and collaboration is a central part of the role. You will have contact with colleagues in other units and external actors as well as citizens. You and your closest colleague will be part of a team consisting of other engineers with different specializations. Broadly speaking, the assignment involves planning, maintenance, and expansion within your area of civil engineering structures. You will be involved in planning civil engineering structures for new construction or expansion of existing residential areas. You will review technical solutions with a focus on accessibility in public outdoor environments, develop maintenance plans, and follow up on measures to ensure that the results meet high standards. Examples of tasks:
- analyze and conduct measurements and calculations within your area to ensure good quality, sustainability, and safety for the city's streets, bridges, and dams
- develop internal routines, conduct investigations, and participate in projects
- respond to inquiries and handle incoming feedback regarding maintenance and operations from citizens
- primarily work in Office365 and document in W3D3
- work with maps in Bluebeam and MyCarta as well as the bridge system BatMan
- manage financial calculations, demonstrate and report needs within your area, and code invoices and be an approver
- participate in procurements within your area
- as a road manager, contribute insights on new detailed plans and building permits
About the workplace
We are based in nice premises at CityPassagen, located near the travel center. The Park and Road operations, of which the Roads and Traffic unit is a part, is responsible for the municipality's authority as a road manager. The unit orders operations and plans and orders maintenance, investments, and development of hardened surfaces defined as public space in the detailed plan.

Qualifications

Requirements:
- Master's degree in civil engineering in road and water construction, or building engineer/university engineer in construction technology or equivalent education and/or significant work experience
- Driving license B
Meritorious:
- other education/additional courses in bridges and/or construction
- concrete competence
- knowledge of relevant legislation
- previous work in a similar role
