Social Worker for Investigation of Children, Youth, and Families

About the Position

Welcome to us at the Investigation of Children, Youth, and Families! The new legislation regarding children in protected housing means we need more social workers in the unit, and we are now strengthening our team further.

As a social worker with us, you will meet children, youth, and their families. Your main task is to investigate the child's situation, make assessments according to SoL and LVU, and conduct follow-ups to provide children and youth with a safe and stable environment. The work also involves writing statements to various authorities and collaborating with external partners and other social services. You will work according to BBIC and document in the Lifecare system. Furthermore, you will contribute to utilizing the family's own resources and solutions, as we work a lot with network inventory.

Examples of Job Duties:

  • investigate and handle cases according to SoL and LVU
  • make contacts both for investigative purposes and to help strengthen individuals' own resources
  • write statements to various authorities
  • collaborate with external partners, such as schools and police
  • decide according to delegation
  • collaborate with other social services
  • follow up on interventions

About the Workplace

The Social Administration within the area of Individual and Family Care is based on several areas with both authority exercise and interventions. Foster homes, Family Law, Reception and Social Emergency, as well as investigation units for all age groups, children, youth, and adults.

Qualifications

The role of a social worker with us is challenging, stimulating, but also complex. Therefore, we need someone who is secure and stable. Furthermore, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. The work also requires you to switch between different tasks and have the ability to find quick, legally secure solutions. You can remain calm in stressful and pressured situations. You prefer to work in a team with shared responsibility while taking significant responsibility for independently driving the work forward. Additionally, you have the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively. You are attentive in your contacts with others and have a natural ability to understand others' perspectives and situations without losing your professional integrity. The work requires good communication skills, which means you can express yourself clearly and structured in both speech and writing. Of course, you are also engaged and want to actively participate in developing the work for the benefit of those we serve.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • degree in social work (210 credits)
  • driver's license B with manual transmission authorization

Meritorious:

  • documented experience from work with authority exercise within social services, case handling, and investigation of cases
  • experience working with Children’s Needs in Focus (BBIC)
  • experience in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • documented experience of conversations with children and youth
