About the Job as a Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you work closely with a person with disabilities in their daily life. You assist and support the person in everyday life and leisure activities. Your workplace is where the customer is, and your tasks involve assisting the customer so that they have the conditions to live the life they desire.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities depend on the customer's needs and lifestyle. They can range from personal hygiene, assistance with transfers, household chores, activities outside the home. The customer likes it when things move quickly and enjoys racing in their wheelchair, so it's important that you, as an assistant, can keep up with their pace. You accompany the customer on walks and visits to playgrounds and other places the customer enjoys. The customer has poor vision and therefore needs your help to describe their surroundings; what you and others are doing, prepare for sounds that you know can be frightening, help the customer see and experience things together with you. The customer uses their other senses to enhance their impaired vision; taste, touch, hearing, and smell. The customer sits in a wheelchair that they operate themselves indoors.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, attentive, and quick to learn new tasks. It is important that you, as an assistant, are calm and patient to best help the customer progress in training and development. Just like for you, it takes time for the customer to learn new things, and it is important that you, as an assistant, have the willingness and calmness to provide the customer with the right conditions to succeed in the challenges we undertake.

About the Position

We are now looking for a substitute who can work on an as-needed basis approximately 1-2 days per week. The working hours are scheduled in the afternoon and evening, weekdays and weekends.

Salary and other employment conditions according to the collective agreement Personal Assistance, Vårdföretagarna - Kommunal.
