Support Educator at Sörbyvägen 4

About the Position

As a newly opened facility, we are in a phase of establishment where you, as a support educator, will have an important role in shaping the new operation. As a support educator at Sörbyvägen 4, you work to support service recipients in their daily lives combined with an extended responsibility to work on ensuring that routines, action plans, and structures are followed and developed. This means guiding colleagues in different methods and work approaches, as well as planning, implementing, evaluating, and analyzing work methods and approaches in the operation.

As a support educator, you work to strengthen the service recipients' skills and personal development, with a clear focus on their own participation and ability to influence their life situation. To ensure good living conditions for the service recipients, we work based on a visual, individual, structured work approach (VISA).

Examples of Duties:

  • supporting and coordinating colleagues to become independent in their work
  • coordinating collaboration with relatives and interdisciplinary teams
  • performing care tasks and duties based on self-care and delegation
  • introducing new employees and supervising students
  • using operational systems and digital tools in work

About the Workplace

Sörbyvägen 4 is a mostly new residential facility with special services. A previous facility, Landbotorpsallén 54, has moved into newly built premises in the Tamarinden area, with an increased number of apartments and staff. There is currently room for six service recipients. You will be welcomed by a group of 10 support assistants and a unit manager.

The Social Services Department, Functional Support Area, provides support and services to individuals with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

Qualifications:

In this role, you need to have the ability to professionally meet service recipients in a calm, attentive, and accommodating manner. It is important to collaborate well with other people and to relate to your colleagues in a receptive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each person's individual needs. You have a high understanding of how people acquire knowledge and their different conditions. You are a person who can take overall responsibility and is good at taking initiative and often coming up with ideas and new approaches in work-related matters. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with service recipients and other staff. Additionally, you have good computer skills and can document in writing what the operation requires.

Requirements:

  • vocational college degree in support education, treatment assistant, treatment educator, social educator, or activation educator, or 60 credits in relevant subjects (such as pedagogy, disabilities, psychology, behavioral science, social work, or equivalent)
  • at least two years of experience in the field of functional support

Preferred:

  • prior experience working as a support educator
  • prior experience in educational work
  • prior experience in leading staff and colleagues

Scope and Entry

Employment Type: permanent employment

Employment Rate: 100%

Entry: by agreement

Number of positions: 1

Working Hours: day, evening, and every other weekend
