IT Operations Technician with a Focus on Security

IT-Centrum is the administration for the joint IT council for the municipalities of Heby, Knivsta, Tierp, Älvkarleby, and Östhammar.

IT-Centrum's area of responsibility covers IT-related strategic, tactical, and operational issues. The council's main task is to provide a well-functioning and secure IT environment.

We are responsible for infrastructure development, operations, management, support, and installations in the IT environments of our member municipalities, and the need for more skilled employees is growing.

The IT Infrastructure unit is to implement, maintain, and continuously improve the organization's IT infrastructure to efficiently support and drive the business processes and information management of the council's member municipalities. The unit is responsible for ensuring that all networks, servers, data centers, storage, backups, and related software function optimally and are secure, scalable, and adaptable to the organization's changing needs. The mission also includes monitoring system performance, managing IT security measures, and ensuring high availability and reliability of IT services.

Responsibilities

The guiding principles of IT infrastructure are responsibility, service-mindedness, and development, and here you will have the opportunity for an exciting and independent work in an open work environment.

The work mainly consists of creating conditions for a continued stable and secure operational environment through technical operations, configuration, optimization/performance management, installation, upgrades, planning and implementation of new systems and services, troubleshooting, creating guidelines, documentation, and participation in projects. You will also act as technical support for various groups within the organization, e.g. system administrators/system owners, and have the opportunity to influence the further development of our IT services through participation in supplier meetings, feasibility studies, workshops, procurements, and projects.

As an IT Operations Technician with a focus on security at IT-Centrum, you will work on tasks such as:

Managing security within the municipalities' IT operational environment together with the operations team
Supporting staff to maintain a good security preparedness
Actively monitoring news in the IT security area
Participating in the development and implementation of security policies, conducting risk analyses, and ensuring that IT-Centrum complies with relevant security standards and regulations
Managing security in the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and applications

Qualifications

You should have:

Worked with IT security issues previously
Several years of experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
Education in the field or work experience that the employer deems equivalent

It is meritorious if you have:

Certifications in the IT security area
Experience with penetration testing
Worked with cybersecurity-related tools such as SIEM, EDR, and XDR
Experience working in public administration
Experience with firewalls and network environments
Experience with identity services, including MIM and MFA solutions
Experience with complex IT environments
A driver's license (B)
