Summer Job as an Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an accounting assistant who can help us this summer and who would like to continue working part-time during the semesters as needed. Here you will have the opportunity to combine your studies with real work experience – and we hope you will want to come back next summer as well!

As an accounting assistant with us, you will have a varied and educational role with a comprehensive introduction to accounting work. Your tasks will include:

• Handling incoming supplier invoices
• Payment of supplier invoices
• Sending customer invoices
• Reconciliation of incoming and outgoing payments
• Administrative tasks such as scanning invoices and handling mail

With us, you will gain practical experience in a larger corporation, which provides you with valuable insights and knowledge. You will also have the opportunity to develop and take on new challenges. Here, you will work closely with our experienced colleagues in a supportive environment where we are happy to help new talents develop.

To be considered for the role, we see that you are at the beginning of your studies and have an interest in both working this summer and working part-time during the semesters. We see that you have the opportunity to start your introduction in the spring - of course, there is the possibility to adjust the introduction according to your schedule. The idea is that you will then be ready to step in and assist during the holiday period and work full-time for a few weeks. After the summer, we hope you will continue to support us when needed, and of course, we will adapt the work according to how it fits with school. Part of the job can also be done remotely.

As a person, we see that you are self-driven and solution-oriented. You take responsibility for your tasks and ensure that they are completed in the best way even when challenges arise. You are structured and have the ability to keep track of many tasks at the same time, which ensures that nothing is forgotten even when the work is scattered. You are curious, enjoy learning new things, and see every task as an opportunity to develop and grow.

History:

The Ö-varvet shipyard was founded by Ernst Backman in 1916 as a repair yard for fishing boats. In 1945, the yard was taken over by the sons Gösta and Hugo Backman and was subsequently taken over in 1966 by Gösta's son Rune Backman.

In 1990, the yard was taken over by the sons Peder, Örjan, and Jonas Backman. The yard then employed 17 people.

Since 1990, development has continuously progressed, from being a yard in 1990 to the group today consisting of five yards and several other marine-related companies.

Today, the 5th generation of Backman is also active in the corporate group. The group currently employs nearly 700 employees with companies located in various places around Sweden.
