Job Advertisement: Key Role in Sustainable Mobility in Gothenburg
The City Planning Administration is responsible for driving and coordinating the physical planning of Gothenburg. We contribute to creating a sustainable city for current and future generations. Our mandate includes responsibilities for strategic planning, detailed planning, land surveying, building permit management, and providing geographical data. About 450 people work in the administration.
The City Planning Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg. Together, we work to create the conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for someone who wants a key role in the work of creating a sustainable city. Your main tasks will involve driving the development of the road traffic system in Gothenburg while collaborating with colleagues responsible for other modes of transport. You will work in a department that together shapes the future of sustainable mobility, where a sustainable transport system goes hand in hand with making urban and living environments more attractive for the people of Gothenburg.
A central part of the position is to drive the transition to sustainable mobility together with colleagues and other administrations. You will lead projects and develop guiding documents and processes. Examples of tasks may include leading the work to develop a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for Gothenburg and being responsible for political assignments related to sustainable travel, which may involve developing guiding documents for street development. You will also support projects with expertise, review documents, and create strategic investigations, as well as work with evaluation and management related to sustainable mobility.
In the administration, we work together within and between administrations and companies in the city and rely on each other's competencies. Given the role of the Strategy and Tactics department within the administration and the city, it is important that you can work in a structured manner and have a strong understanding of strategic management within the public sector. The main focus of the position will be sustainable mobility, but other assignments within the administration's areas of responsibility, such as developing feasibility studies for urban development projects, may also occur.
Do you want to make a difference for Gothenburg's future? Then this is the position for you!
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a master's degree in urban planning, traffic, or equivalent education, and at least 5 years of work experience in traffic planning with strategic elements. Experience working in a politically governed organization and in project and process management is advantageous, as well as experience in mobility and parking issues and the transition to sustainable transport.
You should have a B driver's license and be fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as good skills in Office 365.
As a person, you are driven, take initiative, and achieve results both independently and in groups. You have strong communication skills, can express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing, and adapt your message according to the audience and situation. Furthermore, you are collaborative and find it easy to work in teams, where you listen, show respect, and work towards the common goal.
You are development-oriented, motivated to learn new things and improve your work. You have an active interest in the world around you and reflect on what can be developed. With a holistic view, you see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it affects and is affected by other parts of the organization.
OTHER
Before your interview, you need to bring your passport/national ID/certificate of residence issued by the Tax Agency and possibly proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is to ensure your identity and that you have the right to work in Sweden. As we have already decided on the recruitment channels we wish to use for this recruitment, we kindly but firmly ask not to be contacted for further offers of competence mediation, advertising, and recruitment assistance.
