Combat Control Assistant to the Combat Control Center at A3
About the Position
The Helicopter Wing is seeking a Combat Control Assistant for our control center and execution section.
Your main tasks consist of overall documentation and administration in the combat control center, focusing on the daily operations of the Helicopter Wing in the short term, from a “Here and Now” perspective.
You have good opportunities to influence the directions of the work as well as great opportunities to develop in the position. You are a person who enjoys being at the center of events by supporting the staff in the command in the combat leadership of the unit, as well as assisting the civilian society and total defense.
The position of Combat Control Assistant is located within the Execution Department (A3) of the Helicopter Wing Staff in Linköping. The department is responsible for managing the unit's production within the Helicopter Wing, leading the wing's missions and readiness tasks. The Execution Department consists of about 40 people divided into four sections where you will be part of the execution section.
Main Responsibilities
Tasks:
- Participate in mission planning
- Documentation of incoming and outgoing matters
- Maintaining the situational picture and schedules
- Preparation of materials for orders/staff briefings
- Maintaining the war diary/meeting minutes
- Participate in the staff's work as directed by the commander
Several other tasks will be added, and the work requires independent problem-solving skills and a service-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- Completed GU/GMU with passing grades
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Class B driver's license
Meritorious
- Training as a staff assistant/deputy assistant.
- Training in the Armed Forces' mapping program (GEO).
- Completed basic course in staff service
- Experience with the Armed Forces' intranet (EMILIA, PRIO, VIDAR)

Helicopter support is requested by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also supports society in various crisis situations.
Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide variety in the work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airport and Linköping garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
