Special Helicopter Group (SHG)

is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and a high level of training and competence.

About the position

As an INTELLIGENCE OFFICER at SHG, you will be part of the unit's staff, placed in the intelligence section. The section works to support special operations by providing intelligence and assessments, in close collaboration with other units within FMSF. In addition, the section supports planning, coordinating, and leading the unit's activities.

Main tasks

  • Analyze, process, and disseminate intelligence within the framework of the unit's operations, in close collaboration with intelligence functions within FMSF and other parts of the Armed Forces.
  • Service in squadron staff or in a combined staff together with other parts of FMSF.
  • Provide support in planning by supplying geographical information and analyses, both during exercises and missions.
  • Represent the unit within the function in collaboration with external parties.

Qualifications

  • Officer's degree OF 1-2 or SO 6-7 with a focus on INT/SEC/MSE.
  • Formal intelligence training at, for example, FM UndSäkC.
  • Approved according to FM FysS.
  • Driver's license class B.
  • Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Swedish citizenship.

Meritorious

  • Previous staff experience at tactical or operational level.
  • Other language skills.
  • Experience regarding military aviation.
  • Military driving license BE, C, CE.
  • Previous international service.

Personal qualities

You have a natural ability to organize, prioritize, and handle complex tasks, even when time is tight or when conditions change rapidly. You have a good ability to assess situations and act accordingly, even when information is limited.

As a person, you are humble, social, unpretentious, and welcoming to new challenges. You are analytical, flexible, and have a good overall understanding that allows you to adapt to different contexts. You understand the importance of collaboration and see the strength in working together with others to achieve common goals. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Information about the recruitment process

Applicants for the position at SHG, who after selection are deemed suitable, will undergo a selection process that includes supplementary tests, interviews, and medical examinations. In connection with any call to selection, details regarding working hours, travel, equipment, and preparations will be provided.
