Special Helicopter Group (SHG)
The Special Helicopter Group (SHG) is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and high levels of training and competence.
About the Position
As an INTELLIGENCE ASSISTANT at SHG, you will be part of the unit's staff, placed in the intelligence section, which is responsible for providing the unit with important information and assessments prior to special operations. This is done in close cooperation with other units within FMSF.
The section also assists the execution section in planning, coordinating, and leading the unit's regular exercises. In your role, you will become an important part of the daily work and support both the staff and other units with various tasks – both those that are planned in advance and those that arise at short notice.
Main Responsibilities

- Collaborate and coordinate within the function with relevant stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Participate in planning and follow-up of assignments related to exercises and operations.
- Contribute to the development of both the combat unit and your own function.
Thanks to the section's composition and broad operations, you will have a dynamic everyday life where adaptability and an open attitude towards new tasks are important. In the role of intelligence assistant, you will be given excellent opportunities for further education. The position also requires you to be prepared to participate in both national and international operations, sometimes at short notice.
Qualifications
- Completed basic military training/conscription with passing grades.
- Generally very good computer skills and ability to use commonly used software in daily work.
- Approved according to FM FysS.
- Driver's license class B.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
- Swedish citizenship.
Meritorious
- Previous service in security and/or intelligence units.
- Previous experience handling classified information.
- Previous staff experience.
- Group leader training.
- Other language skills.
- Driver's license class BE, C, CE.
- Previous international service.
Personal Qualities
You are a natural organizer who finds it easy to prioritize and manage complex tasks – even when time is tight or conditions change rapidly. With your attention to detail and sense of precision, you can adjust the pace according to the needs of the situation.
As a person, you are unpretentious, humble, and social, with a positive attitude towards new challenges. You enjoy varied tasks and understand the importance of collaboration to achieve the best results. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.
