Special Helicopter Group (SHG)
is a special operations unit within the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located at the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. SHG's primary tasks are tactical transport, intelligence gathering, and air support. Like other units within FMSF, SHG has high demands for availability from specially selected personnel, with extensive operational experience and a high level of education and competence.
About the Position
SHG is looking for several employees within the logistics function such as LOGISTICS OFFICER and QUARTERMASTER. These positions are recruited both for the S4 staff and for the unit's Combat Service and Support (CSS) company. CSS includes several supporting functions, including aircraft maintenance, communication/IT, logistics, and fuel. Depending on your background and interest, you will be placed in a suitable position.
The Logistics Officer/Quartermaster is responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing logistics within the squadron together with a small work team. The logistics function in CSS is closer to operations and more hands-on, such as handling aviation fuel, while S4 plans and prepares. In addition, you will support the technical manager with ground equipment, including simpler repairs.
Additional diverse tasks will be assigned, and the work requires a high level of initiative, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to see and understand what needs to be done to increase the unit's efficiency and capability. Travel within and outside Sweden occurs frequently in daily service. The position involves maintaining readiness for national and international operations, sometimes with short notice.
Main Responsibilities
- Be the material officer, conducting inventories.
- Support managers with logistics issues.
- Assist the squadron with purchases and orders in daily operations.
- Be the quartermaster during and before exercises.
- Be prepared to be responsible for the squadron's facilities.
Qualifications
- Specialist officer SO 6-7.
- Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Approved according to FM FysS.
- Driver's license class B.
- Logistics experience within the armed forces.
- Swedish citizenship.
Meritorious
- Driver's license/permit C, CE, forklift, loader.
- Vehicle instructor.
- Training in technical service company or equivalent.
- Knowledge in logistics management SAP/PRIO.
- Supply training.
- Previously completed international service.
- Interest in technology/vehicle service.

Information about the Recruitment Process
Applicants for the position at SHG, who have been deemed suitable after selection, will undergo a selection process including supplementary tests, interviews, and medical examination. In connection with any summons for selection, details regarding working hours, travel, equipment, and preparations will be included. Summons for selection will be sent tentatively during week 525 for the selection process in the autumn of 2025.
