The Business Department implements initiatives that promote the competitiveness of the business sector and structural transformation throughout the country. The department's mission is based on Tillväxtverket's policy areas: business policy, regional development policy, rural policy, and cohesion policy. Assignments are governed by instructions, appropriation letters, or special government assignments.

We are looking for a head for the Entrepreneurship Unit. The unit's task is to work to improve the conditions for emerging and existing businesses within selected industries and groups where there is untapped potential. Currently, assignments are ongoing in the areas of entrepreneurship, women's entrepreneurship, the tourism industry, cultural and creative industries, and food. The unit is also responsible for the official statistics on tourism. As the head of the Business Department, you will have personnel, budget, and development responsibilities for a unit, and together with other unit heads, you will lead cross-functional teams that implement the operations.

About the position

As the head of the unit, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the operations based on economic frameworks and regulations. You will represent the operations in various national and international contexts. The unit consists of approximately 20 employees located at one of the agency's 9 offices in the country. As the head of the unit, you will be part of the department's management team and work closely with colleagues within the department and the rest of the agency.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Current experience as a manager with personnel and budget responsibilities
• Several years of experience leading in politically governed organizations
• Experience in understanding various regulations to lead the operations
• Several years of experience in qualified work within Tillväxtverket's/department's areas of responsibility
• Knowledge of the policy areas that Tillväxtverket has assignments in
• Several years of experience in developing operations and working methods
• Experience in cross-organizational collaboration
• Experience in establishing and developing collaborations and networks with industry organizations, authorities, and regional actors
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

The following are advantageous:

• Experience in international work
• Knowledge of the business promotion system
• Relevant experience in the areas of responsibility of the unit
• Knowledge and experience in handling digital tools and working in digital environments

As a person, we are looking for someone who is strategic, has good analytical skills, and the ability to create structure. You are driven and have the ability to see the big picture. You also have good collaboration skills and are service-oriented in both internal and external contexts.
