Unit Manager for Quality and Follow-up
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Preschool Administration is a small municipal agency with a large and important mission. With us, you will contribute to ensuring that all preschools in Stockholm maintain a good quality, both municipal and privately run. Together with the preschool operations in the city, we focus on ensuring that our youngest Stockholmers encounter a safe and equal environment in preschool.
At the Preschool Administration, knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues work in a variety of areas of expertise such as supervision, licensing, and development across all areas of preschool.
The organization is under construction, and there is a great opportunity for you to be involved and make an impact. The administration's office is located at Kaplansbacken on Kungsholmen.
Welcome to us
The Department for City-wide Development continues to expand, and we are now looking for a unit manager for the Quality and Follow-up Unit.
This is an exciting assignment for you who want to work together with the department manager and employees to develop and shape a completely new unit within a development-oriented department.
The Department for City-wide Development is responsible for leading and coordinating the city-wide and systematic quality work based on the city's budget documents and identified development needs. The department supports the quality work of the district administrations to create increased equity in education and teaching in the city's preschools. Our responsibility includes both operational development and competence development. Within the department, we are also responsible for networks and forums for development based on close collaboration with both district administrations, municipal agencies, and external actors.
At the Preschool Administration, there are three additional departments;
- Authority Department
- Department for Finance and Management
- Department for Management Support and IT
At the Preschool Administration, we collaborate between departments to ensure that our work provides the best possible service and development to all preschools in Stockholm.
We offer
A workplace where you have the opportunity to influence and develop a department that will be at the forefront of preschool development. Here you will have the chance to help build and develop the unit in a small municipal agency that is growing and changing. In addition, a large network within the City of Stockholm, good opportunities for professional development, flexible working hours, wellness benefits, and the possibility of vacation exchange are also offered.
With us, you will contribute to a preschool where children's right to an equal education is always in focus.
Your role
The new Quality and Follow-up Unit is responsible for and works with all parts of the systematic quality work, including data collection, reporting, follow-up, evaluation, and analysis. The responsibility also includes developing and leading city-wide relevant networks and forums related to quality work in preschool. A significant emphasis will be placed on developing and establishing common working methods, routines, and structures in close collaboration with employees.
The assignment requires very close cooperation and exchange with the Research and Development Unit, which is also entirely new and part of the Department for City-wide Development. The respective assignments of the units are closely interconnected, and employees' competencies may need to be utilized across units for various parts of the budget assignments that the department is responsible for. This means that you as unit managers need to have close cooperation and, together with the department manager, prioritize and follow up on the department's work.
A close collaboration and cooperation with other departments within the administration is required to contribute to the administration's common mission. Collaboration with district administrations and other municipal agencies in the city, as well as with external parties, is also a central part of the unit's assignment.
You will lead the work in the unit, which consists of strategists. A total of four to six employees will report to you. You are responsible for the unit's quality and budget, as well as for the work environment and personnel. In addition, you will be responsible for planning and following up on assigned budget assignments.
In the role of unit manager, you will work both strategically and operationally, including responding to referrals or correspondence.

Your mature and clear leadership creates good conditions for joy at work, well-being, participation, and learning. You focus on being a present and coaching manager. You gain energy from collaborating with others and find it easy to create engagement.
