Section Chief for Physical Planning at the Swedish Armed Forces
Do you want to lead one of Sweden's foremost workgroups in the area of national interests and have a strong interest in total defense? We are looking for you to work as a chief in the infrastructure department's section for physical planning.
As section chief, you will be responsible for and lead the work on national interests for the military part of total defense. You will lead a team of at least 12 people working with national interests, participate in community building processes to ensure that national interests are met, and represent the Swedish Armed Forces both internally and externally in the subject area.
The Swedish Armed Forces is in a phase of expansion and undergoing a significant growth journey. In the coming years, the agency will develop and strengthen its organization for monitoring national interests and related tasks linked to physical planning. As a chief, you will lead this development.
Main Responsibilities
- Personnel responsibility and management for the section's employees.
- Participation in the infrastructure department's management and leadership groups.
- Responsible for planning, staffing, and ongoing follow-up of the section's work and areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for the development of working methods, processes, and the creation of governing documents.
- Participation in and leadership of strategically important issues within the area of national interests, both within the agency and in collaboration with other authorities.
- Represent the Swedish Armed Forces in government-coordinated planning efforts.
- Train, both internally and externally, such as officials at county administrative boards and other authorities.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Several years of management experience
- Relevant academic degree (urban planner, civil engineer in community building, planning architect, or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the employer)
- Good knowledge of planning and building legislation, environmental code, road law, electricity law, and/or other relevant legislation
- Well-developed communication skills, both orally and in writing in Swedish, as well as the ability to handle information in the form of maps
- Good language skills in English, both spoken and written
Personal Qualities
- You have good collaboration skills and thrive with a large degree of personal responsibility while working closely with your colleagues
- You have a good ability to lead both operations and people, the ability to express your opinions, and are clear and communicative
- You have a good ability to solve tasks with short notice and handle demanding situations
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to meet the Swedish Armed Forces' leadership criteria.
MERITORIOUS
- Management experience from governmental operations at regional and/or central level
- Experience in community planning within government and/or municipality
- Experience working with national interests
- Good knowledge of the work, organization, and mission of the Swedish Armed Forces and total defense authorities
- Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces
- Knowledge and experience in handling classified information
- Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' overarching processes
