Are you an experienced leader with a passion for creating meaningful leisure activities for children and youth? We are looking for an interim unit manager for open leisure activities who wants to take on an important assignment while the regular manager is acting as the operations manager. The assignment lasts for 6 months with an immediate start.

About the assignment:

In the role of unit manager for Youth Leisure, you have a central role in leading and developing leisure activities, consisting of leisure clubs, youth centers, and other initiatives for children and youth. Your task is to ensure that the activities contribute to the good health, positive upbringing conditions, and future confidence of young people.

As a unit manager, you have:

• Budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility for approximately 15 employees
• Responsibility for planning, following up, and developing the activities based on goals and results
• A close collaboration with the administration, the operations manager, and the management team
• A strong focus on creating a safe and inclusive environment where young people feel welcome, seen, and secure

📍 Location: Mainly on-site, some possibility for remote work in agreement with the operations manager

Responsibilities

You have budget, work environment, and personnel responsibility. In your role, you will support,

plan, and follow up on the operational area based on a goal and results-oriented approach. You have

personnel responsibility for approximately 15 people. Collaboration both internally and externally is an important part of the work and

your role includes a lot of contact with the rest of the administration, including the acting operations manager

and the management team. As the manager of the youth leisure unit, you work with the open leisure activities consisting of

leisure clubs and youth centers and other leisure activities for children and youth. You are responsible for leading and developing the activities based on established goals and guidelines that, among other things, stipulate

that the activities should contribute to the good health, positive upbringing conditions, and future confidence of young people. Within our activities, all visitors should feel welcome, seen, and secure. We actively work to

promote the personal development of children and youth by encouraging, supporting, and developing life goals and interests.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position:

• Relevant higher education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
• Previous managerial or leadership experience
• Documented experience of working systematically with result monitoring, budget work, and operational planning
• Previous experience working with children and youth
• Experience working with an intercultural approach and environments characterized by diversity
• Very good knowledge and interest in social issues and the youth political area, norm criticism, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc.

Meritorious:

• Experience from previous work in politically governed activities
• Work with civil society issues
