Unit Manager for SiS IT Development and Management

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we are about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with approximately 4000 employees.

Job Description

SiS is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation where operations are developing on several levels simultaneously. We are developing and adapting our work based on new and changing needs in both society and our own operations. We know that developing and engaging leaders are crucial for meeting today’s and tomorrow’s missions.

As a unit manager, you will ensure quality and service within the unit's area of responsibility. You will plan, follow up, and refine the work in the unit so that you achieve set goals. You are responsible for your employees' work and ensuring that they have the competence and conditions required to carry out their tasks in a good and safe working environment.

As a unit manager, you have operational, personnel, and budget responsibilities for approximately 14 employees in your unit. Your supervisor is the section manager for digitalization, who is part of the management group of the IT and digitalization department.

The IT development and management unit is responsible for coordinating and implementing the technical activities in the authority's management plans, as well as carrying out new development and further development of the authority's IT systems. As a unit manager, you will lead employees with various specialist competencies in the IT field and will play a key role in the entire authority's IT work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree with a focus on IT or other relevant education.
  • Documented current managerial experience with operational, budget, and personnel responsibilities.
  • Experience working with the PM3 model, both in management and governance.
  • Solid experience in systems development work, including requirements management, design, and development.
  • Experience handling IT issues from various perspectives.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to express yourself well, both orally and in writing, in Swedish.

It is meritorious to have:

  • Experience working in a government authority.
  • Experience in change management and implementation of new working methods in IT.
  • Experience with agile methods (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
  • Knowledge of ITIL and other relevant frameworks for IT service and support.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period.

Start date according to agreement.
