About the Position
The Ytstrid department is divided into four units, one of which has a subsection in Karlskrona led by a section manager. The department comprises approximately 110 permanent employees, including project managers, product managers, and systems engineers. Work is primarily conducted in project form where employees with technical, commercial, economic, and other specialist competencies work integrated.
As the department manager, you lead four unit managers for whom you create conditions for an efficient, developing, and sustainable organization by developing leadership within the department. As department manager, you are responsible for translating the organization's overarching goals into concrete plans and results. You drive development and efficiency within the entire Marine Equipment business area to meet future needs. This also includes building long-term relationships and collaborating with relevant external actors such as the industry and defense sector.
As a manager at FMV, you represent the authority according to FMV's vision, business idea, and goals. You have overall operational, personnel, work environment, and results responsibility for the department. Your work is carried out in close collaboration with other departments within Marine Equipment as well as other parts of the organization to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety in deliveries. You are also responsible for resource planning and competence supply within the department and ensure that employees' skills are maintained and developed in line with FMV's needs. You are part of the management team of the business area and are expected to actively contribute to the management team's work and support and report to the business area manager for Marine Equipment.
The position is based in Stockholm. The position may involve travel, both within and outside Sweden.
About You
We are looking for someone with relevant academic education, such as a Master of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent education in technology, economics, or management. Alternatively, you have equivalent education/competence acquired in another way that FMV assesses as equivalent. To be considered for the position, you have several years of managerial experience with operational, employer, and financial responsibility. We view positively experience in leading through other managers in a complex organization, as well as experience in leading in technology and specialist-driven operations. You have worked in an organization with multiple interfaces, different business areas, and dependencies within your own and between other organizational parts. You also have experience in change management and organizational development. We would also like you to have experience working in a regulated and security-driven environment. We also view positively experience from work within the public sector, defense sector, larger technology companies, technology-heavy and/or engineering-driven companies with state connections, as well as experience in public procurement.
Furthermore, we see that you have experience in coordination, planning, execution, and follow-up of projects, business, production, and finance. You have knowledge of project management and skills in various tools of the Office suite. We view positively knowledge of technical design work, development of marine systems, experience from relevant technology areas, as well as knowledge of complex supply chains, technical systems, and production processes. The position requires strong communication skills in Swedish and English and the ability to manage stakeholders at various levels.
As a person, you are results-driven with the ability to balance strategic and operational needs. You have the ability to create engagement and motivation in an organization with high-tech competence and are relationship-building with the ability to create networks internally and externally. Your ability to work independently is well-developed, and you have the ability to make well-founded decisions at a strategic level. The position requires high integrity and a willingness to act for the organization's best. You are stable, stress-resistant, and have a good ability to handle uncertainty and change.
