At Lilla Alby School, we have big visions for the future and want you to have them too. We are a preschool class to year 6 school with approximately 500 students. The school is located in Lilla Alby in central Sundbyberg, close to the tram, bus, subway, and commuter train. The school consists of two school buildings, the red house and the white house. We have purpose-built classrooms for art, music, home economics, and the school library. Our after-school centers have partly their own premises, furnished for after-school activities. The white house's playground, for year 2, is built to encourage play and is well suited for the lower grades. The red house's playground, for years 3-6 and after-school time, has a multi-sport court suitable for various ball sports. The direct proximity to Tuvan Park is a great asset for active breaks and after-school activities.

The role involves participating in school development. Every week, you and your colleagues meet, led by the lead teacher and school management. The school's prioritized areas of collaborative planning and joint assessment contribute to achieving Sundbyberg City's goals – increased goal achievement and increased equity. Every student should have the opportunity to develop maximally in terms of knowledge and social interaction. At the core is the municipality-wide work on "Accessible Learning" and USiP – Teaching Competence in Practice, where educators have the opportunity to develop their teaching by observing each other's lessons.

Lilla Alby School is a movement school with a health initiative we call PSG – Puls Sprint Go. We focus on increased physical activity throughout the school day, which includes scheduled movement breaks. We see that increased movement not only improves students' health, both mentally and physically, but also benefits their learning.

We are now looking for a primary school teacher for a temporary position covering parental leave for a teacher in year 5, for the autumn term 2026. The position involves teaching mathematics, Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language, and Social Studies, as well as being a mentor in one of three classes.

Qualifications

• We want you to be a certified teacher for grades 4-6 with eligibility to teach mathematics, Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language, and Social Studies.
• To succeed and thrive with us, you must always have the students' best interests at heart and enjoy collaborating with colleagues in both school and after-school activities.
• You are a clear leader in the classroom.
• As a person, you reflect on your teaching in relation to student results.
• You adapt teaching so that all students are given the opportunity for high goal achievement.
• You have high expectations of students and have an inclusive approach to work.
• A requirement is that you master the Swedish language well, both in speech and writing.

The position is a 100% temporary contract for the autumn term 2026, starting August 7, 2026.
