Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Centrally located near Årstaberg station is Sjöviksskolan, a modern F-9 school (grades 1-9). The school's facilities were completed in 2020 and are designed with a special focus on creating creative learning environments with a high sense of security. This is evident in the absence of traditional corridors, the separation of older and younger students into different zones, and the prominent role of art in the premises. The school's special classrooms are located in the main building where the older students have their classrooms. The youngest students have their own movement room, and on each "home base" (hemvist), there is an atelier for creative activities, which reduces the need to move between buildings. Students meet daily in the cafeteria, where they have their own seats, as well as outside on the schoolyard.
The school operates as a three-parallel organization where each grade level forms a teaching team. Each grade level has its own home base with classrooms, group rooms, and workrooms. The work in the teaching team is led by a team leader, while the pedagogical development work in teacher groups is led by the school's lead teacher.
Sjöviksskolan's vision is to create opportunities for the future. We work based on our core values: proud, brave, and together. All students should feel pride in their identity, their school journey, their knowledge, and the community we create together. During their time with us, students should develop the courage to be themselves, try new things, and fulfill their dreams. No one should be alone at Sjöviksskolan; we seek community in the small, the medium, and the large scale – all of us at Sjövik!
Your role
For the 2026/2027 school year, we are now looking for an engaged teacher in Science (NO) and Technology. The position is a permanent full-time appointment (100%). You will belong to one of the teaching teams in the lower secondary school (grades 7-9). The position includes teaching Science in grades 7-9 and teaching Technology in grades 5 and 6. The role of mentor for lower secondary students is also included. Our lower secondary operation is the youngest part of Sjöviksskolan, and in the spring term of 2026, we graduated our fourth cohort of students who completed grade 9. We are therefore looking for a teacher who wants to be involved in the continued development of our lower secondary operation.
In the role of teacher at Sjöviksskolan, your task is to motivate and give every student the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential. Since there is close cooperation between classes and teachers, we are looking for you who are relationship-oriented and thrive on collaboration. Positive, driven, engaged, solution-oriented, and having clear leadership skills are qualities we value.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for you who:
- have teacher certification for grades 7-9 in primary school with eligibility to teach Science (NO) and eligibility to teach Technology in grades 5-6.
- show good leadership qualities and a good ability to create positive relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, thereby creating a safe climate and a good working environment.
