Here, you will have the opportunity to work with stimulating tasks alongside knowledgeable colleagues in an engaging environment. Our office is located on Fleminggatan in central Stockholm. We currently have approximately 220 employees.

Brå is a growing authority, and to the unit for Law, Procurement, Registry, Archives, and Finance (JURAE), we are now seeking a lawyer for the position of In-House Counsel with a focus on data protection and digitalization. You will work in a pleasant unit with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues. We collaborate closely and share knowledge and experiences. You will become an important part of our unit and will work particularly closely with the other in-house counsels and the Chief Legal Counsel.

About the Job

Brå has grown significantly in recent years and sees a need to intensify the authority's data protection work.

The authority is also undergoing a digitalization journey, which means that issues related to IT law are becoming increasingly relevant. The authority is now strengthening its legal support and is looking for an In-House Counsel with an interest in data protection and digitalization issues.

As an In-House Counsel with a focus on data protection and digitalization, you will work with such issues, AI, public access, and confidentiality. You will provide advice on data protection matters to the entire organization and work closely with the authority's IT unit, assisting with legal support during, for example, the implementation or development of new IT systems. As needed, you will assist the organization in conducting impact assessments, developing procedures within the data protection area, creating training materials, and educating employees on data protection issues. It may also become relevant for you to serve as the authority's Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Other duties included in the role include writing official comments, developing and updating policy documents, and providing legal advice in other areas of law relevant to the authority, such as administrative law, criminal law, and public access and confidentiality.

Brå is an authority with short decision-making paths where we work closely with other organizational units. As an In-House Counsel at the authority, there are good opportunities to influence working methods. It is an advantage if you enjoy organizational development, and we continuously work on developing our methods and how we best support the operations.

Your Education and Experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • Notarial qualifications or equivalent professional experience from the courts
  • Experience in digitalization work, IT legal issues, AI, or information security

Your Personal Qualities

To succeed in the role of In-House Counsel with a focus on data protection and IT law with us, you need to be independent, responsible, and meticulous. You have high integrity but are also flexible and unpretentious, finding pragmatic solutions to drive the work at the authority forward. You can switch quickly between different tasks and prioritize under time pressure, and you have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. It is important that you communicate and collaborate easily with others, and that you are pedagogical and structured.
