The Swedish Schools Inspectorate is a dynamic authority! We are now looking for a Business Controller on a fixed-term contract. This position is perfect for you who enjoy change, have an interest in analysis work, business planning, and business follow-up. The role is part of a group of four controllers responsible for the authority's overall planning and follow-up. Your direct manager is the Authority's Chief Financial Officer.

In the role of Business Controller, you will have a broad network of contacts within the authority. We are looking for you who are a positive and solution-oriented person with the ability to quickly adapt to new conditions and tasks.

The position is located in the Unit for Economy and Business Management, which consists of 10 employees. The unit's areas of responsibility include economy, business planning, business follow-up, and procurement. The unit is part of the Department for Operational Support and Law, whose responsibilities, in addition to the unit's, include HR, archives and registry, Security and Premises Management, IT, Legal, and the Secretariat for the Schools Inspectorate's Appeals Board.

The placement is at the headquarters in Stockholm.

Responsibilities

In the role of Business Controller, you will, among other things, work with the authority's business planning, focusing on processes for the authority's work with risks as well as internal control and governance. You will also work with data and analyses of the operations.

Qualifications

• You have a relevant academic degree in economics or another field we consider relevant.
• Several years of experience working as a controller in the public sector.
• Several years of experience in business management and follow-up.
• Good ability to plan your work and work independently.
• The job requires that you have good fluency in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Meritorious is previous work at an authority with strategic planning or strategic implementation at a general level, authority governance, risks, and internal control and governance. Project management experience is also meritorious.

A prerequisite for thriving is that you can collaborate with others. You need to be structured and systematic, able to identify needs, plan, and drive your work independently. Last but not least, it is important that you have good pedagogical skills and can make complex connections easy to understand. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

The Position

The position is a nine-month fixed-term contract (can be extended). The scope is full-time with the possibility of remote work. Start date by agreement.
