The Swedish National Agency for Education works towards a school system where all children and students have equal rights to quality education and knowledge in a stimulating and safe environment. Every child and student has the right to develop as much as possible based on their individual prerequisites. The agency operates through three main branches: supervision, quality assessment, and licensing. We are located in Gothenburg, Linköping, Lund, Stockholm, and Umeå.
For us, the needs and interests of citizens are at the forefront, and we always strive to deliver high-quality services from the perspective of “those we serve”. We offer attractive conditions and interesting tasks alongside dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues.
Are you an experienced lawyer familiar with Swedish public sector regulations? Then we have an exciting position waiting for you where you will have ample opportunity to apply your knowledge of the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act! You will work together with the archives and registry office, which consists of five archivists, two registrars, and one case officer handling the same duties as described in this advertisement.
Responsibilities
The Agency's public records consist largely of material from its inspections and licensing reviews. There is significant public interest in these records. In this role, you will process requests for access to public documents, including secrecy assessments according to the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, for cases submitted for archiving.
You will conduct secrecy reviews of restricted information prior to releasing public documents and, where necessary, prepare decision materials for secrecy assessments. In addition to these main duties, other related case-handling or administrative tasks connected to access requests may also be assigned.
As time permits, the role will also involve assisting the archives and registry office with legal matters.
We are looking for you who:
- Hold a law degree (Juristexamen)
- Have 1–3 years of documented work experience dealing with legal issues
- Can communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with processing public access requests including secrecy assessments under the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat or equivalent software
Your personal qualities
As a case officer handling public access requests, you must have a strong sense of responsibility for your tasks, along with a meticulous, structured, and efficient work approach. You quickly grasp the context across different operations and maintain a holistic perspective. We value strong communication skills and the ability to express yourself clearly in both speech and writing. Additionally, you should be collaborative and service-oriented towards the public, acting in accordance with the Agency’s policies, guidelines, and procedures. We highly value flexibility without compromising on work quality.
We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities during the selection process.
Possibility to agree on remote work arrangements is available.
The position
Full-time position, start date according to agreement.
A probation period of 6 months applies.
Application
We work with a competency-based recruitment process and have therefore chosen to omit the cover letter.
