Special Educator for Skogsängsskolan – Creating Inclusive Learning Environments

About Skogsängsskolan

Skogsängsskolan is a newly built school for grades F-6 (Preschool Class to Grade 6) with excellent facilities and a fantastic schoolyard. We have grown over the last few years and currently have approximately 460 students in a three-parallel organization. Here, we work together with a focus on collegial learning. We work preventively to create safety and good conditions for students' learning in our multicultural school unit. We use differentiated and language-developing approaches to achieve higher goal fulfillment.

The school has a comprehensive student health team including a counselor, school nurse, social pedagogue, special educator, and special needs pedagogue. We also have access to a school psychologist and school doctor from the central student health service. To create safety and study peace, we place great emphasis on norms, values, and good relationships. An important part of this work is our organized and well-functioning recess activities.

Responsibilities

1 position.

As a special educator, you play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment where all students receive the support they need. You map students' needs for special support, plan and implement support measures together with teachers, and develop teaching based on students' needs. You provide support to students in various subjects, both in class, groups, and individually, mentor colleagues, and handle ongoing documentation in various student cases.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have a teaching degree and teaching license, as well as a completed or ongoing special education teacher education. It is an advantage if you have the qualification to teach in grades 1-6. If you have experience working as a special educator and have worked with the Swedish curriculum Lgr22, this is also considered an advantage.

You have a solution-focused approach and good analytical skills. You build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, seeing collaboration as an important part of developing the operations and creating good conditions for students' learning.
